Senior Scholarships
The Academic Boosters Club is committed to recognizing and awarding academic excellence. One way we do this is by awarding two $500 scholarships to two graduating seniors. Students interested in applying for this award are asked to write a 300-500 word essay on a given prompt.
The ABC Board and a committee of English teachers review the anonymized essays and score them using a rubric that includes consideration of content and ideas, organization, style, voice, grammar, and usage. The winners are announced at Senior Recognition. No parents of seniors are involved in the decision-making for these awards.
2025 Scholarship Essay Prompt -Due April 20 by 10:00pm-
FHE offers a variety of opportunities for students to get involved, ranging from music, theatre, and athletics to robotics, the talent show, and after school clubs. Participating in these and less formal activities oftentimes enhances their academic learning, leads to deep and meaningful relationships with peers, expands their view of the world, and more. Unfortunately, many freshmen students are hesitant to engage, or they are unaware of the benefits. Write a letter (300-500 words) to next year’s incoming class of freshmen -the Class of 2029- in which you help them understand the potential benefits of getting more involved in the FHE community.
